01 · Overview

What Sound Test Online does

Sound Test Online is a free, browser-based spatial speaker test. It plays audio through your browser’s Web Audio engine and moves the sound around a virtual 3D room so you can confirm that every channel in your setup, from 2.0 stereo up to 7.1.4 Atmos, is wired and positioned correctly.

The entire experience runs locally in your browser. We do not require an account, and we do not ask you for any personal information to use the test.

02 · What we collect

Information we collect

Audio and microphone: Sound Test Online only plays audio out to your speakers or headphones. It does not record, access your microphone, or capture any audio from your device.

Settings: Your choices (channel layout, volume, equalizer, and track) are held in your browser for the session and are not transmitted to us.

Usage data: Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers automatically collect standard technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate region, and the pages you visit. This is used only to keep the site running reliably and to understand aggregate traffic. It is never used to identify you personally.

03 · How we use it

How we use information

We use the limited technical data described above to operate, maintain, and improve the speaker test, for example by fixing playback issues, measuring overall usage, and prioritizing new features. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

04 · Cookies

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the test is used in aggregate, such as how many people visit and which channel layouts are most popular. Google Analytics may set cookies and process anonymized usage data on our behalf, in line with Google’s own privacy policy. This helps us improve the test.

You can block cookies in your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on. The speaker test will continue to work without them.

05 · Third parties

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to deliver Sound Test Online. The site is hosted on Vercel, whose servers automatically log standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) to serve, secure, and keep the site online. We use Google Analytics for aggregate usage measurement, and a content delivery network for fonts and audio tracks.

These providers process technical data on our behalf under their own privacy terms, and only to provide their service to us.

06 · Children

Children’s privacy

Sound Test Online is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

07 · Your rights

Your choices and rights

Because Sound Test Online does not collect personal accounts or profiles, there is little personal data to manage. You can clear your browser’s storage at any time to remove session settings, and you may contact us to ask about the limited technical data our hosting and analytics providers log.

08 · Changes

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
